What collision repair involves
Collision repair is the work of returning a damaged vehicle's body to its pre-accident shape and finish. Depending on the damage, that can mean pulling and finishing a dent, repairing a panel, or replacing a panel that is too damaged to repair well. Refinishing is planned alongside the body work so the repaired area matches the surrounding paint instead of being treated as a separate job.
Not every job is a large one. Parking-lot dings, scraped bumper corners, and scratched doors are collision repair too. The process is the same at any size: look at the vehicle, document what is damaged, agree on a plan, then do the work in the agreed order.
